PROGRAM OVERVIEW & APPLICATION

FINANCIAL AID GUIDELINES

Lakes United FC is committed to offering the highest quality programming at the most affordable price when possible. 

Please review all of the following information and a link to apply is provided at the bottom of the page.

Scholarship funds shall be available as budgeted by the Board of Directors.

LUFC Financial Aid guidelines are as follows:

  1. Awards are limited to 50% of the registration fee for the first child and up to 75% for additional children of the same household.
  2. Applicants must illustrate and provide supporting documentation of the financial need and/or hardship. Supporting documentation may be as follows:
    • the previous 2 years of parent/guardians Federal Tax Returns (summary pages only), and/or
    • documentation showing eligibility for reduced or free school lunch programs, or
    • if in extenuating circumstances the above documentation is unable to be provided, the applicant will provide as much information as directed by the Board of Directors to make a final decision.
    • the Board of Directors shall provide the final decision on the adequacy of the above documentation and may request additional information at any time.
    • All information provided is private and confidential.
  3. A minimum of 6 hours of volunteer time shall be committed to the club. Either the player or parent/guardian of the player may complete this volunteer time. These 6 hours are in addition to any other volunteer time required by the club or the team.
  4. Donation of customary services utilised by the club, such as printing of flyers, advertising, a load of dirt, and other such services as beneficial to Lakes United FC may also be considered.
  5. Scholarship application forms shall be considered confidential and shall only be reviewed by the Board of Directors, or other appropriate Club Staff as directed by the Board.
  6. No scholarship opportunities shall be considered without the completed Financial Aid Application Form, as directed below.
  7. This Financial Aid opportunity is for the regular registration fee. This application does not address tournament fees, team fee or any other fees.
  8. This process shall have no bearing on the outcome of tryouts or decisions regarding team placement or level of play.
  9. No summer league scholarship applications shall be taken after April 1.

Financial Aid processes are guided by:

  • Family needs
  • Number of children in a family
  • Number of players in LUFC Soccer
  • Family Income
  • Overall Financial Situation

Families are eligible to apply for LUFC Financial Aid through the LUFC website. All financial and personal information is considered highly confidential and this information is not shared with anyone outside the Board of Directors. For the privacy of our applicants, all documentation provided will be destroyed or returned (upon request).

  • Financial need must be demonstrated for consideration. Economic hardship will be the only factor in awarding Financial Aid. No one will be disqualified from consideration because of sex, race, color, creed or religious beliefs.
  • ALL family members playing club soccer in TCSL or MYSA must be playing with Lakes United FC to receive the maximum available Financial Aid package.
  • While we try to address as much of the need as possible, Financial Aid amounts will be based on the number of players demonstrating need, the extent of that need and the budget available for Financial Aid that year.
  • Financial Aid awards will be reviewed on a yearly basis.
  • NO player will receive a scholarship for 100% of their fees
  • Awards are limited to 50% of the registration fee for the first child and up to 75% for additional children of the same household.
  • Extenuating circumstances that warrant reduced fees of 75% or more for any single individual or all family members shall be communicated to Lakes United FC on the application form and those special circumstances will be reviewed by LUFC.
  • A minimum of 6 hours volunteer time shall be committed to the club. Either the player or parent/guardian of the player may complete this volunteer time. These 6 hours are in addition to any other volunteer time required by the club or the team.
  • Donation of customary services utilized by the club, such as printing of flyers, advertising, and other such services as beneficial to Lakes United FC may also be considered.
  • Applications received after the published deadline will not be considered, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
  • Applications that are not filled out completely may not be considered.
  • Any unpaid league fees from the prior season(s) will result in an applicant being ineligible for Financial Aid.
  • After Financial Aid is awarded, the remaining balance of player registration and other applicable player fees are to be paid in full by May 1 of the Spring/Summer season if on a payment schedule is in place. For Fall players, all fees must be paid no later than September 1. Failure to maintain financial good standing with LUFC will result in a player being ineligible to participate.
  • If a child chooses to leave the club, the full financial aid allocation will be due back to LUFC.

REGISTRATION FEES

  • Each Lakes United FC Competitive soccer player must pay the $200 non-refundable registration fee deposit to play competitive soccer, payable at the time of registration. The only exceptions to this rule are:
    • Extenuating circumstances affecting the ability of the applicant to make the above payment.
  • Lakes United FC Financial Aid can assist with all fees but all players must register to be placed on a team.

APPLICATION OPEN FOR 2023-2024 SEASON!!

Upon receiving a completed application with all required documentation by the deadlines, financial aid packages will be reviewed and notifications communicated no later than 1 week from receipt.
